DORSI TECHNOLOGY ™

Dorsiflexion represents a fresh change in the way we think about foot position in conventional footwear.  In dorsiflexion, the heel is lower than the ball of the foot. This concept was researched and tested for over seven years before being integrated into a platform technology for athletic footwear. The benefits of this technology are proven and recognized in improved health, training results and athletic performance.

DORSI Technology™ is comprised of 4 fundamental components that are measured and tailored to address the needs of different physical activities:

Dorsiflexion Position
Energy Plate™ and Rolling Action
  U-Control Insole System™
Dorsiflexion Last

Dorsiflexion Position

The heel is positioned lower than the ball of the foot.

Energy Plate™

The Energy Plate™ is a special component placed under the metatarsals to increase and facilitate the roll of the foot, providing greater range of motion and improving the push off.  This rolling action is specifically designed into each model of footwear to facilitate the physiological requirement of walking, running or jumping.

The Energy Plate™ also reduces the metatarso-phalangeal flexion which decreases the energy lost during the push-off phase of walking and running.  The energy from heel strike to toe off is used more efficiently.

U-Control Insole System ™

All SpringBoost footwear comes with 2 or 3 pairs of interchangeable insoles, depending on the model. Each pair of insoles provides a different degree of dorsiflexion ranging from 0° to 5°.

The lower degrees of dorsiflexion (0° and 1°) are designed for the user to progressively adapt to this position. SpringBoost is the only athletic footwear built with the heel lower than the ball of the foot, so it requires a short adaptation period!

The higher degrees (2° to 5°) intensify the training effects; enhance muscle fiber recruitment, improve explosive power and energy efficiency.

Dorsiflexion Last

A last is the foot mold around which the shoe is built. SpringBoost’s lasts are developed in dorsiflexion.  A dorsiflexion last helps improve the foot and body position to optimize the physiological requirements of each sport discipline or activity.  All performance and health benefits start as a result of improved foot positioning in the shoe.
